Services Available Include:
- Neuromuscular Therapy (NMT) - specific treatment of musculoskeletal
pain using accurate assessment techniques and precise treatment of
the involved muscles. Lisa's training includes NMT for the spine
and thorax, head and neck, upper extremities, and lower extremities.
- Sports Massage - available for pre- and post-event, as well as
maintenance during training and in the off-season; enhances athletic
performance, prevents and limits injuries, and can improve endurance.
- Lymphatic Massage - a feather-light massage technique which stimulates
lymphatic flow, enhances the immune system, and helps prevent the
onset of colds, viruses, and other illnesses; best done twice a year
at the change of seasons as a preventative measure.
- Chair Massage - a convenient, safe way to experience the many benefits
of massage by sitting in a special massage chair; clients are fully
clothed and typically no lubrication is necessary.
- Swedish Massage - "the systematic and scientific manipulation
of the soft tissues of the body for the purpose of establishing or
maintaining good health" (from Massage Therapy: Principles and
Practice by Susan G. Salvo).
- Yoga Therapy - personalized yoga sessions that are designed to
help you achieve your health and wellness goals
- Ear Candling - a natural, non-intrusive procedure that may help
alleviate the painful effects of chronic headaches or sinus conditions,
ear infections, allergies or vertigo, as well as minor hearing loss
due to excessive earwax build up.
- Gua Sha - a healing technique used in Asia by practitioners of
Traditional Medicine, in both the clinical setting and in homes,
but little known in the West. It involves palpation and cutaneous
stimulation where the skin is pressured, in strokes, by a round-edged
instrument that results in the appearance of small red petechiae
called 'sha' that will fade in 2 to 3 days. Raising Sha removes blood
stagnation considered pathogenic, promoting normal circulation and
metabolic processes. The patient experiences immediate relief from
pain, stiffness, fever, chill, cough, nausea, and so on. Gua Sha
is valuable in the prevention and treatment of acute infectious illness,
upper respiratory and digestive problems, and many other acute or
chronic disorders.
